Cheap rig (doesnt have to be street legal)

was wondering if you guys could help me keep an eye out for a cheap but running rig. id say an XJ would be our best bet. would like it to be under 1K and somewhere somewhat close. color doesnt matter 4 door 2 door whatever. id rather it be an auto but that doesnt matter to much either. my buddy has been trying to find a rig lately with no luck. thanks for any help
