WTB .308
I'm in the market for a bolt action .308, savage or Remington 700 with 24"+ barrel, preferably 1 in 10" twist. With or without scope. Let me know!

No, Just wanting to try my hand at some long range target shooting. My .25-06 is great but I don't think it will cut it at 500+ yds.
I've got my eye on a couple on gunbroker in the $500-$600 range, but was hoping to cut out the BS of shipping a gun by dealing locally.

Hey Ted your 25-06 will reach 500yds, any further and yes the 308 is good, 300mag better, 416 Barrett, ideal.
Went to the new range in Liberty Hill and popped the 500 yd LaRue steel targets at will with an AR-15 so if my 223 can do it the 25-06 can. I will let you know when the next range session is and we can go out there and ring some steel. Hell I have a pistol that can reach that distance! Here is the 500yd AR and my long range pistol.
