HELP Need Tires

Post by madscientist on Wed Mar 17, 2010 8:02 am

Anybody have a set of 4 31,32,33x12.5/15 in decent shape you'll let go for cheap? I need to buy new rubber but can't afford a full set of what I want right now so I am trying to find something to get me by for a few months till I can raise the cash.

Getting desperate (ok, not midget desperate or anything, yet)Razz -

I can vouch for those tires,,,they're stout and last a long time (maybe cause I don't wheel as much as I would like) but they still are long lasting tires none-the-less. Cept for the 6" hole I put in one of mine but that was my fault Mad

650.00 sounds like a pretty good deal. they used to be cheap new but now they are prett expensive.

Not sure if you wheel alot, but I wouldn't run the truxxus. I've seen plenty of them shread sidewalls. On of my buddies shredded 2 within an hour at trees a few years ago.

Good to know! I was going to buy a set in a few weeks. Not now.

What do you know about the SSR's?

Not much. A good rule of thumb is to go w/ tires that have at least a 3 ply sidewall, it's a huge difference between a 2 ply and 3 ply if you look at the tire unmounted.

I ran SSR's on my old truck for quite a while. They rode nice and weren't very loud considering they are swampers. I didn't have lockers at the time so I can't speak to how EXTREME they were, but I had excellent traction off-road and on even in the rain. The truxx have more siping for whatever that's worth.

I loved the way they performed and the way they looked(ya that does matter a little to me). The SSR's seemed like about the most aggressive tire I would be willing to use on a DD. Just don't expect to get a ton of miles out of em, since they are SS.

Makes me think about another set for the jeep if I don't get a AT for the wife to use on the street and a MT for the weekends.
