Doors or no Doors... that is the question
Hey guys im about to take the plasma torch to my turd bourban... aka Papa Smurf.
Im definitely cutting the entire back end off and incorporateing it into the exo-cage, but I cant decide if I want to leave the doors on or take them off. I have built rigs in the past without doors and the trees sure do hurt and the mud in the face is a bother. What do yall think?

Aren't the doors on hinges? Just unbolt them.

I'm pulling the doors off the '76 as soon as I get the cage made (gotta help the legendary '73-'87 structural integrity)......but IDK yet whether or not they'll be able to be put back on.
Just my $.02. Personally, I think the 'Burb would look badass with the doors off.

Re: Doors or no Doors... that is the question
once I weld the exo solid its gona be hard to put the doors back on. Im thinkin abiut welding the back doors shut and maybe removing the front doors or cutting them down.

why not put the cage inside? then doors on or off when ever you want. but if exo is final then lose the doors

I would drill out the hindge pin and come up with a new one thats removable, and replaceable. Keep the doors as long as they close and seal "decently", yet maintain the option to use or not use. When the day comes that they dont fit.........recycle

Thanks Carter and Doosh, i usally have good ideas, but there rarely noted due to the fact that it makes me act like a pompas ass.
Just kidding on the name, i couldnt resist (ill never do it again)
Ak, im guessing that you would keep for structural integrity? If you were to keep them, you would need a ladder to get in the sumbitch Duke boy style. Seriously, i would want one helluva interior or exo before i took them out, but ive rolled a lot of times.
Id be lookin to scrap em asap.

I may weld the back doors solid and build some tube doors for the front. I like the idea of using the stock hardware to swing em.
thanks for all of the good ideas
